Privacy Policy
Effective: 12 October 2026
Memora has no accounts and sends none of your cards or study history to LuraAI. Embeddings, AI deck creation and document analysis all run on your device. There is no analytics, advertising or tracking SDK.
1. What we collect
LuraAI ("we") collects no personal information through Memora (the "app").
- There is no sign-up and no login.
- We never ask for or collect your name, email, phone number or location.
- We use no analytics, advertising or tracking frameworks and ship no third-party SDKs.
- The app contains no code that sends your cards or study history to us.
2. What is stored on your device
The following stays on your device and is needed for the app to work:
- Decks, cards, review history (when you reviewed and how you rated), and analysis results such as clusters and confusable pairs
- Embeddings (numeric vectors) used to compare the meaning of cards. They are computed on the device and are not synced.
- Text read from documents or photos when you create cards from them, quizzes you generate, and your quiz history and wrong-answer notes (kept on the device only)
- App settings (theme, fonts, read-aloud voices, review reminder time and so on) and your Pro entitlement
- Safety backup files on the device (decks, cards and review history; the latest three)
- Backup files you save with “Back up now” to a location you choose (Files, iCloud Drive and so on). You keep and manage those files; they are never sent to us.
3. iCloud sync — your storage, not ours
If you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud sync is on in Settings (the default), decks, cards, review history and analysis results are stored in your own private iCloud database (CloudKit) and synced between your devices. We cannot access it. Small settings such as read-aloud voices and theme use iCloud key-value storage. Embeddings, document text, quizzes and quiz history are not synced. You can turn sync off at any time in Settings › iCloud sync.
4. When the app uses the network
The app never sends your cards to a server. It uses the network only for:
- Downloading model files: the embedding model for meaning analysis (about 165 MB) and the AI deck model you choose (Gemma 4 about 2.6 GB, Qwen3 about 1 GB or 2.7 GB) from Hugging Face. Before any download the app shows the size and a data-usage notice, and it starts only after you confirm. This is an ordinary file request; no cards or study content are transmitted. Hugging Face’s privacy policy applies to that request (for example your IP address).
- Purchases: the lifetime purchase is handled by Apple’s App Store. We never receive your payment details.
- iCloud sync: sent only to Apple’s services, as described in section 3.
5. AI features
Finding duplicate and confusable cards, meaning search, creating cards and quizzes from documents and creating decks with AI all run on your device, using Apple Intelligence’s on-device model (Foundation Models) or downloaded models (EmbeddingGemma, Gemma 4, Qwen3). The topics and documents you enter never leave your device. AI-made cards can be wrong, so please review them before saving — and check medical, legal, tax and investment topics against official sources.
6. Device permissions
- Camera: used only when you photograph a textbook page to draft cards. The photo is used on the device to read text and is not stored.
- Photos and files: only the photos and documents you choose are read.
- Notifications: requested only if you turn on review reminders; they are scheduled on the device and do not go through any server.
- Read-aloud uses the system voices on your device and does not use the microphone.
If you decline a permission, only that feature is unavailable; the rest of the app keeps working.
7. Apple Watch
The Apple Watch app exchanges only today’s cards and your review and quiz results with your paired iPhone. Nothing goes through a server.
8. Sharing with third parties
We do not collect your information, so there is nothing for us to sell or share with third parties.
9. Deleting your data
In the app’s Settings › My data, Delete all data deletes this device’s decks, cards, review history, documents, quizzes and the on-device safety backups. Deleting the app also removes the data on the device. Data stored in iCloud can be managed in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage. Cards you delete in the app can be restored from “Recently deleted” for 30 days.
10. Children
We do not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
11. Changes to this policy
If the policy changes, the effective date above changes; significant changes are announced in the app update notes.
